Handsome, hardworking, and a multi-faceted talent, Michael Willett has made a name for himself in the entertainment business by taking on buzz-worthy roles that have put him on the map as “one to watch” in 2015. He can currently be starring on MTV’s critically acclaimed comedy series “Faking It.” As “Shane,” Michael brings to life a modern day Ferris Bueller, the stylish, popular kid who runs the school and instantly embraces his newfound lesbian friends.
In addition to “Faking It,” Michael recently filmed a supporting role in the indie film TELL-TALE LIES [Synthetic Cinema International and Stargazer Films], a modern take on Edgar Allan Poe’s classic chiller. Also on the indie film front, Michael is well known from his starring role in G.B.F. which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2013. Directed by Darren Stein, G.B.F. follows closeted gay high school student and introvert “Tanner” [played by Michael] who is outed and then picked up by the cool girls in school, becoming their latest accessory while he struggles with leaving his old friends behind. The film is currently available in the U.S. on VOD, Netflix, iTunes, and Amazon and in the UK on VOD and DVD.
Aside from his work in film and television, Michael is also a musician and writes and records under the moniker WILLETT. His music, a fusion of pop sounds with classic rock undertones, pays homage to some of the greats in music; David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Muse, and No Doubt [to name a few]. WILLETT most recently released the single “Started Over” which premiered on VEVO in February 2015.
When not working, Michael loves to paint, draw, and rollerblade with his rescue dog Little Dude, a terrier- chihuahua. He is also a supporter of Canine Companions for Independents, an organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships.
